Release

I confided in a friend who told me,
that you're not really gone,
that your soul is in the air I breath,
that somewhere you live on.

But surely if you're still somewhere,
I would sense and I would feel,
your breath and your heart beating,
the things that made you real.

But if you can hear the words I say,
please know how much I miss you,
and that my life will have no meaning,
if i'm to spend the rest without you.

Although I know you've gone,
and I'll never see you again,
I know that you were mine,
and I was yours right to the end.

So please, don't forget me,
I won't ever forget you,
you're my man, my savior, my hero,
because the love you gave me was true.
