Mask

by CY GINDLE   Jan 27, 2007

I wear a mask I wear so many
masks. I wear these masks
not to fool the world but to fit
in it

I wear my masks to hide
behind, To hide all my fear
confusion and loneliness

I wear my mask to be accepted
I wear my mask to be loved

I wear my mask to be heard
otherwise no one would listen to
a single word

the mask is what they see but
who is the real me

I know some day someone
will expose me of these masks

exposure might be what I need
maybe just the thing that will set
me free

we get so use to disguising ourselves to others that in the end we disguise ourselves from us
