Field

by Flying Phoenix   Jan 28, 2007

Standing staring in the middle
Of a hollow empty field
Wind howling, swirling around
Tearing savagely at my frail figure
Scowl painted frightfully
Plastered across my face
Echoing my disposition
The plagued sky contorted
Ferocious clouds threatened
Separated in this field
Crying out to the air
My voice filled with passion
Tormented screams
Pleading with despair
Tears plunging down to earth
Gouging tracks of pain
My last hope washed away
Standing alone
Torn apart by my life
Severed by nature
I howled for reprieve
I touched the rain
Held myself together
Let my heart fall
Collapsed
Gave up
Left remote in this field
In this field of pain

Oh han. *hugs* you are so amazing, and your poetry just gets better and better. "the plagued sky contorted" -> AMAZING! i loved all the imagery in this poem, and the feeling, and hurt, and anguish. *cries* so beautiful. It reads to me as calm, yet brimming with emotion, such a delicate balance. perfectimo.
