Fingers

by SilentRebuke   Jan 29, 2007

Close your eyes, and barr out figments of your mind.
Let me show you exactly what you can find.
Excitement over such a small and petty touch,
Or maybe guilt because you want this so much.
You may sleep on the surface, but underneath,
I know you are playing with the joys I bequeath.
My fingers dance so lightly over your skin
That drawing your desires out feels like sin.
Have you felt how the drumbeat in your own ears
Screams a tongue I can't fathom, voicing our fears?
Your confusion hands me a vivid power,
I can taste it, but is it sweet or sour?
I'll have to muse on the events of tonight,
Ponder them long after you are past my sight
I have found a gift of the mind so remote
That I will surely with exhaustion be smote.
You seem to be forcing my thoughts out of line.
I only feel the touch of your skin on mine.
My brain will give way and crumble into dust,
As a fetter under constant rains will rust
You have begun to sink down below my grasp,
Into a deep, emotionless void you'll lasp.
