Hardest Goodbye

You don't know how much you love someone until they have gone,
But when it does happen, you feel like your heart is torn.

Some people in your life play such a big part,
You just don't realise it until they've gone from your heart.

Gone are the days when I see your smiling face,
Gone are the days when I feel your sweet embrace.

And though time may erase your footsteps from the sand,
I'll dream about you every night holding onto your hand.

    'You don't know how much you love someone until they have gone'
    That is true...I lost my grandma and I didn't even fully know her that well but so I still catch myself thinking of her and wondering what she liked....I ask my parents questions about her too.
    The last sentence was strong and deep but so meaningful
