No Longer Here

We got to know each other a little bit better,
As each day passed,
I thought it would last,
I thought I knew you,
I thought I could always count on you,
But I was wrong.

I loved you,
And you loved me,
At least that's what you said.

You were my first love, it's true,
I don't know what I would have done without you,
You got me through a tough time,
You told me to be strong,
That everything would be okay,
And my life got a little better because of you.

Then you went and left me,
And now all I do is sit here and cry,
Wishing you were still here with me.

It's been a long time since I last talked to you.
How could you just leave me,
Without even saying goodbye?
I trusted you, I cared about you,
But everything you told me was all lies.
I should have known this wouldn't last,
Nothing ever does.

    Ahh...first loves. It sucks a lot when they're over but I think you can learn something from them. Another good poem. Good work.

    Good poem, but hey seeing as how it is an old one i hope all is better now. It's better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all, i have come to understand what the actually meens over the years. I hope you do too.
