Daddy - [[Song]]

by TheWorldFellNUWerentThere   Feb 5, 2007

Not the best song but I tried.

I tried loving you
But you didn't understand,
I tried telling you that I loved you
But you didn't listen.

Daddy, why ain't you here anymore,
Didn't anything matter to you,
Didn't all those words,
Even get you thinkin',
Mom's dying without you,
The little boys are missing you,
And daddy, I wanna be your babygirl for one more day.

I tried loving you,
But you didn't understand,
I tried telling you that I loved you,
But you didn't listen.

Daddy, why'd you turn away,
Why'd you walk away from me,
Aren't we your everything anymore,
When did you change your mind,
The family's broken without you,
Please give yourself one more chance,
Maybe you'll change your mind again.

I tried loving you,
But you didn't understand,
I tried telling you that I loved you,
But you didn't listen.

Daddy, we miss you,
We don't like the new you,
I want my daddy back,
The one who'd sing with me in the truck,
The one who would hold my brothers close,
But we cannot wish anymore, your already gone,
Just open your eyes one more last time, and forever see your life disappearing.

((Okay This poem was suppose to be about a girl, her brothers and mom losing her daddy to drugs, that is if you didnt understand it.))

I didn't get that she was loosing her dad to drugs, for me it felt more like her dad left her mum and her mum had a terminal illness... but it doesn't matter what I think - poems can be interpretted in all different ways by different people depending on their backgrounds etc. You did really well - it really did hurt my heart to see how pleading this little girl was to get her daddy back. Well done. 5/5

    I liked it, a lot.
The second stanza, the last line was a bit too long.
    BUT, this is a song.
Therefore, when sung it would probably sound good.
    Lol.

Overall You did a great job. :]
    I liked it alot.
    And, the repitition, too. :]
