There's a Man in the Moon

by Peter Williams   Feb 6, 2007

I took a long walk outside in the rain,
But of course I wasn't singing that tune.
I saw a man in the light of the moon,
Then the thunder clapped above me again,
And the storm's lighting struck down in vain.
This happened to be in the month of June,
Not that early and not that very soon,
That I had gotten on that lonely plane.

The light of the moon was never the same,
For the man that I saw was truly there,
And he truly is the man in the moon.
I didn't know the man, I didn't know his name.
But I know that I can solemnly swear
That one day he will come down very soon.
