Neverland

by Ryan C   Feb 8, 2007

Memories coming streaming through,
Present pain will not subdue,
Pretty Eyes and Peter Pan,
Can't take me back to Neverland.
Remembering for what it's worth,
Can make the feeling so much worse,
No hero here to save the day,
No flying boy to stand and say,
"Come along and take my hand,
I'll take you back to Neverland."
Of course then I would reply,
"No thanks Peter I'll be fine."
Hide my words for all to see,
So they can not respond to me.
Somehow my selfless attitude,
Was put in words as something rude.
Pretending as if I'm not there,
They pass by without a care,
Four close friends, four empty seats,
But still there is no room for me.
Come here now, offer your hand,
I'll come with you to Neverland.
