Secret Obsession

by Zoe   Feb 14, 2007

She was pretty and popular
He was the star of the team
Their relationship was perfect
Almost like a dream

She asked if she was beautiful
Asked him what he thought
He didn't give her an answer
Which meant she was not

They were in the supermarket
Near all the magazines
Again she asked who's beautiful
He pointed to the cover of Seventeen

A flat tummy and perfect legs
Now were her goals
She just wanted to diet
But if got out of control

She sat by the sink
Tears rolling from her eyes
As she wondered to herself
'Why do I even try?"

She threw up again
Hoping it would be the last
But she knew it wouldn't be
This she figured out fast

She knew she wouldn't be good enough
He would never be happy with her
Because she wasn't a model
This she knew for sure

Night after night
She threw up everything she had
Until one night she was caught
By her mom and dad

She said she was sick
She said she wasn't feeling well
Because she knew the "consequences"
If the truth she would tell

So she starting throwing up in private
She did it when no one was home
Hiding outside in the garage
Where no one would know

After months of this
The perfect couple set apart
The boy who said she was ugly
Left her puking in the dark

She got on her knees
And folded her hands
said God please help me
That's my final demand

She finally found help
For her secret obsession
She was treated and cared for
Through her confession

That boy made her miserable
But this he never knew
Don't let some other boy
Do the same thing to you
