Freaks on Parade

by Poetvoices   Feb 15, 2007

Sparkling chests all in a line
creatures from another time
a frowning, beaten, clumped chain Gang
the sunlight bounces off the frame
and makes the silver and gold to shine

a general up on hammock smiles
his ribbon weaves the street for miles
the soldiers march while beating scum
knowing that all the fighting's done
even though winning took a while

marching, marching on to the stade
Gang's death plans are already made
their ankles are covered in foreign dirt
no shoes, no pants, no hair, no shirt
they went from power to freaks on parade
