Waiting For Tomorrow

by Mark   Feb 16, 2007

Just laying here, wondering why,
I'm staring at the dark black sky,
exhausted from the day gone by,
inside i know, but I'll just lie

To everyone else so seemingly fine,
not a tear, nor a moan, not even a whine,
the eternal absence must be a sign,
all this time gone by, and no-one thats mine.

Mountains of feelings, thousands of thoughts,
releasing it all is what i sought,
many harsh lessons i have been taught,
the luck Ive had amounts to zero, naught

Its hard to hide my hearts desire,
but at the present there is no fire,
there was one before, but that was prior
to realising she was just a liar.

So another year, same old day
just wishing it would go away,
once again, this is where i lay,
waiting for tomorrow.

I agree...although I'm in a relationship I dislike this time of year because while one half of the world is blissfully in love, the other half is realising just how alone they are.
This was a very saddening and touching write, however, I'm sure you can come up with a more imaginitive description than "dark black sky.."
    Thanks for sharing.
