To just disappear?

A friendship stays long
For all of two years
Gets weaker and weaker
Until it disappears

Why is it like this?
I don't understand
I've tried to change it
But its not I'm my hands

If something so strong
Something lived long

Can vanish in an instance
Into the distance

What of the people?
That we hold dear
So close now
To just disappear?
