My Dearest Friend

by Shelby   Feb 19, 2007

The darkness fumes around me
I search for the slightest bit of light
My friend, you have confined me
For this, I cannot fight

The smoke chokes all the lilies
The pastures they have built
Your heart does not show fearfulness
Your soul does not feel guilt

The taste of salt meets my tongue
My friend, why are you so cruel?
My forgiveness is what may hurt you
You have no right to rule

The sweet caress of helplessness
It will not part my mind
I love you friend, come near to me
You'll be pleased with one you find
