Like an Angel

by Run out of words   Feb 21, 2007

I looked up at the stars yesterday,
just before I fell asleep.
That was when it struck me hard,
my mind took a great big leap.

There was a purpose for him to send you here,
and a purpose for him to take you back.
A purpose for why, to me, you became so dear,
and a purpose for why your departure came like a whack!

Like an angel you soared down,
and lifted me up to the clouds.
Making sure I never frown,
your smile worth a hundred mouths.

Like an angel your wings fluttered,
pulling me up in my bad days.
And the your words like and angels song you uttered,
and instantly I was ok.

Like an angel you embrace me beneath you arms,
like an angel you loved me so.
Like an angel your light soon gave away...
And soon it was time to go.
I screamed and pouted all inside,
but never did I let it show.
I tried my best and I did hide,
and slowly I let my sadness go.

But recently I realized,
you are not mine.
You are God's and his alone.
But I hope for sometime,
you considered me yours,
and forever my path you would guide.

Forever came,
and you had fulfilled you purpose.
Oh what a shame,
What a shame for us...
It was time for you to go back to your angel.

And like an angel,
God called you back,
so he could send you on another mission
what a decision.
But don't you worry,
Because you...
You will always me my angel.
