Hollow Memories

by Internal Hatred   Feb 22, 2007

The cries of laughter deafening,
The look of joy painful,
I watch them run,
I watch them play,
And I watch the look of happiness painted on their carefree faces.
I see their parents collect them,
And I see them walk hand in hand,
Side by side.
I envy them.
I miss the times that I never had,
And hate the times that I did.
I miss the cards that I was never dealt,
And scream in agony at the hand I received.
I miss the childhood I never had,
And live in despair over my stolen years.
I cry for the lost love and laughter,
The safety and the warmth.
They're all just hollow memories,
Memories that I never had,
But will always miss.
