Untitled (boxes)

by Samantha Jayneee   Feb 23, 2007

Boxes filled with secrets
Butterflies, robots and beating hearts
Each one a different story
Trapped in a crowded room.
Childish fears thrown aside
Will the ones I love come forward?
A thousand feet scurry away
Yet no lid was ever lifted
Or any guilt shifted from my box to yours.

No money ever enough
No key will ever fit
Sealed and locked
Just dream the night away
Let the dragons be dragon flies
And dance in their own style
A thousand feet dance away
Yet no lid was ever lifted
Or any guilt shifted from my box to yours.

Take a good look now
With shining eyes
Blinded by beauty
Dazzled by light
Take my hand
Let skin touch skin
No door was ever built
So no feet can scurry away
And no lid can ever be lifted
Or any guilt shifted from my box to yours.

The right hand corner holds
More secrets than the left
Magical and scary
Shimmering yet light
Welcome to my cove
A thousand feet scurry away
Yet no lid was ever lifted
Or any guilt shifted from my box to yours
Trapped inside each compartment
Packed tight inside your mind

Wow. Just, wow. I love your style of writing, the imagery that's lacking in some poems was amazing, 5/5, defo.
