Behind her Eyes

by in spite of love   Feb 25, 2007

In person, you'll see her,
Simple and sweet.
A great first impression,
For all who she meets.

She holds back her tears,
As she looks to the sky.
She loses her fears,
Then asks her "God" Why.

Why did he leave her here,
On this cold world, on her own?
Where people can deceive her here,
She's broken, she's alone.

But she ignores "His" neglections,
And she keeps on, she believes.
She isn't sorry for herself,
Nor wants others to be.

A girl lost in this world of grief,
A girl who's pain no one believed.
A girl who no one once heard sigh...
A girl who'd be dead, before she cried.

But that can only go on so long,
A soul can break, as it can bond.
So, this girl , still silent, moves along,
But she must live, she must stay strong.

And just when she thinks all hope is gone,
When she thinks there no such thing as "God"
When what friends she had, had stabbed her back,
When she'd lost everything but her heart, and her track.

She'd burned the bridge behind her,
She could never return.
When her soul had lost all sight hope,
Her life, it crashed and burned.
