My Calling

by Internal Hatred   Feb 28, 2007

The earth it calls my name,
It screams to me in the night,
Beckoning me ever closer,
The maggots cry for me,
Call for my flesh to be theirs.
So I watch the world go by,
Just watching,
Knowing it will never be mine,
Never be mine to enjoy,
Never be mine to see,
Never be mine to live in.
So I watch and I listen,
Listening to the sound of the wood being carved,
Listening to the nails being hit,
Listening to the lining being set,
It calls my name,
Calls for my cold flesh,
Just waiting for me.
But I can no longer wait for it.
I will follow my calling
