Don't you dare,,*

by Catastrophic Beauty   Mar 2, 2007

I'm pouring out all the reasons why I'm the way I am
But even after you've tried, you still can't understand
I was born like this, it's the way I have always been
...So don't you dare try to change me

I'm sorry I'm not the girl everybody expects me to be
But you don't have to drown me in my imperfections
It's not my fault that I'm not excepted by everyone
...So don't you dare try to blame me

I'm not hurting you or offending you in any way
So why do you have to make my life a living hell
I make mistakes but you can't correct my wrongs
...So don't you dare try to punish me

    Wow.
That was amazing. When I read the poem, it felt like you were reading my mind at times.

^ My favorite stanza, simply because I feel this way. People hold high standards for me & when I don't meet them they put me down for it. Wonderful poem! Keep writing! 5/5
