A Pirate

by Bill Turner   Mar 3, 2007

Civilization ends at the waters edge
Pirates still roam the high sea
Wild eyes, crazy, like a man on a ledge
I do not know about you, just about me

When the deal goes down fear fills the air
Spear gun, shot gun, just having fun
Bandits upon the sea, living without a care
Where are you going to go...no place to run

A captain claims his destiny upon the water
All is lost when I and the crew arrive
Blood upon the blade marks the slaughter
Only the truly evil will ever survive

Give up the ship...we came for the booty
Drop the silk, strip her bare...stem to stern
Music in the background...must be Hootie
Suck back a beer, when will they learn...

All in a days work...a pirate's life for me
Take all you can, give nothing back
See my ship on the horizon...it is time to flee
I live by the jolly roger...Jack!

I love this first line Bill.
Wow such creative writes you are coming out with lately, my friend.
My head is just so blank lately. At least I have R.T.V.W's wonderful poetry to read.

Amazing read Bill, as always, my friend.
