This City Will Turn

by Ruthie   Mar 12, 2007

So cold and alone
No way to get worm
They're so confused
Can't weather their storm

Their cry is lost
In the vast coldness
Of hope now dead
And no more boldness

Each smile is a lie
they can hide behind
They struggle on
Their eyes gone blind

Who can save them?
And calm their fears
Who can raise them?
And wipe their tears

Until I see salvation
And hope in their eyes
Until I see righteousness
And no more lies

I will not be silent
While they fade away
I will not stand still
For one more day

This city will turn
And shine like the dawn
With freedom and hope
All bondages torn

A great blazing torch
Alive in the night
Declaring the truth
The wrong from the right

That day is come

So stand on your feet
Declare he is king
Jesus our Saviour
Let his name ring

- Isaiah 62:1-
For Zion's sake I will not keep silent,
For Jerusalem's sake I will not remain quiet,
Till her righteousness shines out like the dawn,
Her salvation like a blazing torch.
