Just a runaway

My hearts beating hard
raindrops falling down my face
hiding my tears as i run in the rain
I'm running from the pain in this place

i cant hear a thing
and now i cant even breath
my legs are getting heavy
and through rain and tears i cant see

my throat is beginning to swell
and I'm soaked to the bone
my legs give out and i fall to the ground
i hit down hard i give out a silent moan

the rhythm of my heart
it's my own personal drums of war
hitting hard against my chest
and i just cant take pain anymore

so I'm sitting in the rain
and the only thing i can do is pray
pray to be a bird and fly on high
into the sunset and away from the gray

but when i open my eyes
I'm still sat alone in the cold and rain
with no one to love me and no one to care
and now I'm just a runaway filled with hurt and pain
