John Doe

by Daisy if you do   Mar 15, 2007

It was not yet time for the Doctor to make his rounds
Steady beeps from monitors made the only sounds

Memory of nothing that brought him to this fate
If he would even make it was cause for strong debate

Thirty-six hours passed since they brought him in
Labeled just as John Doe with no next of kin

Finding him slumped over just off the city street
With the body of a woman that lay there at his feet

No recollection of his past he lay there so confused
Security outside his room because he was accused

They asked no questions about the injuries incurred
Or how the womans death could even have occurred

Be it by God or by them, there was justice to be served
In the end John Doe would get what he deserved

John Doe was not all that lay there fighting for his breath
A dying justice system will surely be our death

The flow of this poem was flawless and you have so many wonderful lines in it.

"John Doe was not all that lay there fighting for his breath
A dying justice system will surely be our death "

Although this wasn't the ending I expected for this particular write, It does, pretty much sum up the poem.

You did an exceptional job on this. The story was quite captivating in that it kept the reader focused.

    Great job.

    Always,
    Jeannie
