When You Cry

by PullMeCloser   Mar 16, 2007

I can deal with your anger.
I can deal when you sigh.
I can even deal with the occasional fib,
But never when you cry.

Tears slipping down your cheeks
Are the worst sight to me.
You being so upset,
I never want to see.

You can yell at me,
You can tell me every lie.
I can even take it if you stab me,
But I cant stand it if you cry.

You don't have to love me,
But know I love you
And when you cry I have no choice,
But to start crying too.

The one thing I cant stand,
That tears me up inside
Is knowing I wasn't there
To kiss every tear you've cried.

No matter how you've hurt me,
If I find out you've shed a tear,
Any anger would melt away
And I'd keep you sheltered here.

You've made me cry,
And I cant say I don't care
But all would be forgotten
If you shed just one tear.

I want to be there for you
Until the day you die
And baby you can try and suffocate me,
But it'll hurt worse to see you cry.
