I Am Tired

by Lu   Mar 18, 2007

It is with heavy heart and
tongue in hand
I walk out this door.
Holding to the wind, bitter
words that need not be said
for upon wide shut ears
they would fall.
As salt touches and burns
my starving lips,
accepting, that the love we
once shared, is gone
Craving what you can no longer
give to me
I cry .....

Turning that key may be the
hardest thing I've ever done.
Sound of the engine frightens me
pain in my heart is killing me.
But I know ......
Staying will only make my heart
die of hunger
I am tired

Sometimes the hardest thing we have to do is the best thing we can do.. and you got that point across in this piece so perfectly.
I find writing free verse so difficult, but your words flowed so lucidly..
    Well done m'dear
