Goodbye She Wrote

by William Flores   Mar 21, 2007

Do you believe in love?
She looked the sky as she wrote
Do you believe in me?
The song of sadness formed a sea

Do you remember us?
Pictures of heavenly days forever engraved
Do you remember me?
Words in a treasure chest forever encased

Goodbye she wrote
While her heart slowly broke
Goodbye she wrote
Wrote the thoughts she never spoke

Twisted thoughts of painful memories she had
To put to an end with a bullet and her pen
Rid herself of the damage that was said
And untwist the dagger that laid in her chest

Heart in hand, alone she wrote
While her tears beagn to flow
Covered in darkness to hide her glow
She pulled the trigger...

Goodbye she wrote
To the wind she softly spoke
Goodbye she wrote
Love vanished with the smoke

Covered in darkness she hid her dim glow
As he walked in the room and a tear began to flow
He picked up the note as the wind began to blow
And read the words that froze to snow

Dear keeper of my heart and my soul,
Remember those days of yellow and gold?
The same days of love and passion, of which you told
Of how you blinded with clever lies and adventures untold?
That dragged me to darkness as I lost my soul

Remember what followed? The words, the beatings, the scolds?
That caused the sadness that made me so cold
Remember the pain you caused? Left in me to decay, to rot, and into cuts mold?
Well now I plan to repay you, repay you in ten-fold

There's just one more thing I want you to know
One thing to remember before you go
We could have been together, forever, we could have grown
But now it's time for you to go... time for you to be buried in snow
Goodbye
Sincerely,
The bitter memory of you I'll hold

She looked at him one last time...
Pulled the trigger to end her note
And with a bullet goodbye she wrote
