Cry For The Little Boy

by William Flores   Jul 27, 2005

Next to a shattered window, sitting all day
There lives a small boy, across the street
Silently hurting and full of dismay
He spends his time alone in full retreat

He stares aimlessly at the blue sky
Picturing the birds as they take flight
Alone with no one he lets out a sigh
Cause mommy and daddy work every night

Cry for the little boy
As he welcomes life with anxious eyes
Cry for the little boy
Unprepared for all of its wretched lies

Cry for the little boy
Searching for one answer
Cry for the little boy
As life eats at him like cancer

I close my eyes as I picture the boy
Living his life in secret solitude
As he holds on to his favorite toy
Isolated from happiness and its multitude

I see the little boy with fears in his heart
With questions about life’s eternal mystery
His will to live battered right from the start
As he walks a long rode of lonely misery

Cry for the little boy
As he cloaks his pain with a smile
Cry for the little boy
As he cuts with a dagger once in awhile

Cry for the little boy
He knows not the ending of his story
Cry for the little boy
He will fade away as a part of tragic history

I close my eyes and see within my soul
The little boy who desperately needs a light
I stare aimlessly at the dark gray sky
Picturing the birds that have failed to take flight…

the reason why i only gave you a 4 is this.... the poem doesnt appeal to me for some reason.. its good, ill give you that.. but the rhyming is getting to me for some reason... i tend not to rhyme, so i tend not to like rhymes.. so maybe im just different but thats just me, keep up the good work... this seems like a poem from your heart or somewhere close so dont take what ive said too seriously... or serious at all
    keep it up
