Perfect

Long blond hair
And eyes of blue
A girl with a secret
That no one knew

Hiding in her room
Everyone thought she was alright
But they were all clueless
About her impossible fight

She stayed strong during school
So her friends had no doubt
But when she came home
She got the razor out

The blade broke her skin
So fragile and fine
Cut after cut
Making line after line

She hid behind bracelets
So no one could see
And no one would wonder
What her problem might be

For if anyone knew
About what she was hiding
They wouldn't understand
The battle she was fighting

She fought to be perfect
And never do a wrong
But now nights of crying
Lasted so long

No matter what she did
It never turned out right
Everything she did
Made it harder to win the fight

She was losing her grip
She was ready to fall
Because it turns out
She could never be perfect at all
