Me Looking Back

by TheWorldFellNUWerentThere   Mar 27, 2007

I can see that fake smile,
Painted upon her face,
I can see all her hidden fears,
And those untold stories,
Looking back at me.

She just sits there,
With mixed emotions seeping out,
She doesn't have to say a word,
I just seem to understand her,
In complete silence.

We can sit together for hours at a time,
She's going through everything,
I'm going through,
She's gone through everything,
That I have in the past.

We seem to have the same laugh,
The same smile,
Hair,
Eyes,
And the same feelings.

She seems so non-existent,
While I seem to be all here,
Reality seems to hit me so hard,
She seems to have no world,
I want to be like her.

But every night,
After the hours of sitting with her,
I seem to find,
In the mirror,
It's only me looking back.
