There Was Never Any Us

by Echelon Eric   Mar 30, 2007

We've known each other for quite awhile
I thought we would be great friends
Have fun, talk, help each other and smile
But you've turned it into torture, it never ends

Let me tell you this story, of this person I admired so greatly
We have fought, we have ignored, we have forgave, but lately
Things have changed for the worse
Only small talk, nothing else
We meet daily, we walk, we talk, (a little) but why not converse?

So now I think of you, with shame and hopelessness
And to think you were just having an off-day or under stress

I see you treating your other friends just the same as always, you think you're so cool
But others think, and so do I, that you're a fool

You can regret and apologize all you want
I wish you not pain, but your sorries, I do not want
Things will turn back the same within weeks you'll see with your eyes
From the ignorance to the dirty looks to the attitude I despise

Stop being my "friend" then
You don't care, you've never cared
I don't know if I can trust you again
'Cause trusting me, you never dared
You don't take me as serious
You think I'm so delirious

Whatever, do what you want
I'm done

We may still be "friends"
But even after those fun times hanging out, the crazy IMs, and the cool rides on the bus
There was never really any us
