Daddy Comes In Early

Daddy comes in early,
Says it's time for school,
Says to wear a jacket,
It got a little cool.

Daddy comes in early,
Says it's time get up,
Turkeys won't wait all day,
Get the coffee and a cup.

Daddy comes in early,
Says girl go ahead and sleep,
It's time for me to work,
And leaves without a peep.

Daddy didn't come early,
He didn't come at all,
Got a little scared,
And I ran throughout the hall.

Daddy wasn't there,
Mama was crying,
They told me the news,
I told them they was lying.

Daddy didn't make it,
From his work today,
I remember the last words,
I heard my daddy say.

"Baby, hurry and get up,
It's time for me to go,
I'm going to work now,
Just know I love you so."

    This is an amazing poem.
    It's a story, actually.
