Drives The Angel To Death

Drives The Angel To Death

Until death do us part
These words are muttered
Forever in this heart
Locked in shuttered

A small-town church
and such a great spot
In the darkness lurch
Where our bodies will rot

Over this unknown grave
Stands a man all alone
An angel failed to save
A name written within the stone

This angel stands on the ground
Looking up into the sky
Seeing the stars he can only frown
He never wished to say goodbye

The only soul he ever prayed for
The one that was taken away
His own Heaven making his heart sore
How he hopes to end this day

Angels so kind, for peace and hope
The love inside him killed.
How his aching wings could barley cope
He disobeyed, to do what he willed

Banished forever into the unknown
These bars could not hold him still
Opened his wings and forever flown
He had to save her it was his will

To save her from heaven, one might have said
Her soul clinging unto a star
His heart in his chest bled and bled
Leaving the most painful scar

She would have died sooner or later
For it was more then just fate
No banishment could stop him from saving her
He must fight through Heaven's gate

Just to see her at least one last time
Hold her in his angelic embrace
For no angel could ever find
Such forbidden lips to taste...

Once again, you kicked butt with your rhyme scheme. And I love the story behind this one. Nicely done. 5/5
