Dear Heart

by Disturbed and Under Age   Apr 4, 2007

Do not dispell my love
for it cannot be denied
forgive me my weakness and sin
for in the face of true love i lied

'Twas in the fear of such greatness
my ruined heart ran
A harbored fear of Lucifer
in the shape of a man

Girlish fantasies and dreams
took residence in my heart
such were shattered by a boy
who would tear me apart

'Tis a sin to harbor hatred
thus my sins are great and lasting
destroying my faith in love
creating self-torment and fasting

Be my knight in shining armor
and save me from myself
wipe away my tears
and take my heart from its shelf

Take my hand in thine
and lead me through the day
hold me in thy arms
through long and weary night
Dear Heart, i implore you to be mine
for at the sound of your voice
mine heart takes flight
