Dearest Daddy

by No1ButMe   Apr 6, 2007

Dearest daddy,

Do you know me

Maybe, maybe not

You haven't been in my life

But for me you've fought

Let me explain

Something new to you

You now have an eighteen year old daughter

That doesn't know what to do

I want to trust

But you haven't been around

You weren't there when I was happy

Or when I had fallen to the ground

Now I'm a young women

Today I'm all grown

If only you could've seen

If only you could've known

But now you're here with me

And that's what's important

Later is better than never

I'm glad to me you were sent

Now my favorite color is green

My shoe size is a size seven

I'm glad you're my father

And I believe in hell and heaven

The little things don't matter

Just you being with me now

Tell me you love me

Show me somehow

I've been through love

Even some heartache

But now is a good time

For memories to make

Say you'll stay this time

And hold me in your arms

Let me be your little girl

Keep me safe from harm

Be there for me when I need you

Catch me when I fall

Don't ever hesitate to vent

But don't ever ignore my calls

Be my friend,

But also be my father

I'll always love you

As Always, your daughter
