Bedroom

by Marie   Apr 13, 2007

Through an open bedroom door
walks the young girl
softly stepping through
the rustic old room
searching for something
but without knowing what
wanting something
but without a hint
of what she truly wants
tiptoeing through
though she doesn't know why
she's being so quiet
as if not wanting to be heard
but deeply wanting to be noticed
she searched and searched
quietly looking, looking
until she saw what she was looking for
somehow she had missed him
sleeping o so quietly
in his charming slumber
lain lightly in the center
of the dark oaken canopy
and she fell in love instantly
she wanted to be noticed
deep down inside
but a more dominant feeling
of keeping him in this away state
kept her quiet and still
kept her from being seen by him
kept him in his slumber
and she at there for years
admiring without acting
as he slept off in his other world
not even knowing of her
she watched him in his quietness
his perfection shining at her
she was afraid to approach
of fear of his perfection
fading away when he was awoken
and so she remained afraid of any noise
and the young girl grew
until she was old and wrinkled
but the boy remained perfect
in the same place he had stayed
for all these years
still locked in his world
and one day, he awoke
and they stared into each other's eyes
hers filled with love
his filled with surprise
and she died
without knowing
that she was his fair maiden
left to awaken him
but with never enough courage
he cried next to her body
knowing the truth
as though it may have been wrinkled
he knew he had loved her
as he had slumbered
he had seen her
without being able to awaken
because she never made a sound

I love this it reminds me of the sleeping beauty or snow white story, this is a fairy tale with a twist impressive
