Lost Princess

by Rachael   Apr 17, 2007

In secret forests there doth dwell,
An Ivory Tower all forlorn
Where lives a princess locked away
in hidden chambers dusk til dawn.

Her beauty captivated men
Her radiance so pure
But now she's hidden from their eyes
For now and evermore.

Some have tried to rescue her
And take her for his wife
But the forests are for those who are
prepared to give their life.

And many a heart stopped beating there
Their love just overcome
By monsters set to keep them
from the battles they begun

And last of all a handsome prince
Who called the forests name
"You are only make belief,
and this is just a game!"

And there the monsters died that day
As a wise old, owl did call
"Well that goes for your princess too,
She isn't real at all!"

But the prince did not then heed his words
And to the tower he went,
To nothingness and empty space
upon his journeys end.

For this was just a fairytale
And fairy tales aren't true
Can someone please just tell the prince?
Because his heart is blue.

He must return now to the place
in which he lives inside
that little place where dreams are made,
It is........within my mind.
