Kind.

by Brittney Jackson   Apr 19, 2007

Never a kind word
Fell out his lips
but a foul tongue
a meaningless kiss.
hateful thoughts
raced round her brain
once again she prepares
for a night full of pain.
a day full of nothing,
cuz nothing gets through
a heart full of stone
nothing but hurt to spew,
from his mouth
from his hands
enough for her to know
what he demands.

What she needs
what she gets
he gives to her
with no regrets.
Or so she believes.

But he sits alone
trying just to breathe
crying out to the lord
fresh tears on sleeve.
he knows its wrong
didn't mean to go that far
so that night
he stumbled into his car
knowing, understanding
it wouldn't continue anymore.
