Lies

by KT Mackey   Apr 20, 2007

Forever and a day,
A very long time indeed.
Shadowed in depression,
A heart that makes me bleed.

Covering up the sickness
With lies that never end
Forcing down my anger
And making my wounds mend.

Forcefully you leave me
With lies that sound so sweet
Giving in to your love
was the stupidist thing for me.

Forgetting all the torment
I have when your around
Pretending that this fall can't hurt me at all
While inside I'm a sickening and weak.

Just kill me now
Spare me the pain
The hurt and the tears
Of seeing you again.

I like the first two stanzas although the meaning of the poem seems to come out in the third.
I like the picture they portray; I like the image of the heart (or love) that makes bleed and anger like an inner force which makes wounds heal. It's something we tend to do, to keep the people that (we feel) have hurt us at a distance so that we may mend our wounds
