Glass Rose (part 1)

Glass Rose

Love is like a glass rose
You must handle it with care
For if you don't
It may break and shatter.

What it brings to you,
You may not like.
The thorns may wound you,
Leaving you to cry.

If you hold it right
The love wont hurt you
But what it has to offer
Is its warmth and light.

For if you have dropped it,
It will never be the same
A piece is left broken,
Never to be there again.

Now I have warned you,
It isn't an easy thing.
Those who have held, it can learn
From whatever it may bring.

To those who have held it,
And hold it well,
Will realize there is more,
To the secret spell.

For those who came this far
You look beyond your glass rose.
There is soothing greater,
A glass garden to uphold.
