Oak Tree

by omgitsmina   Apr 24, 2007

Life is like an oak tree
It grows inch by inch
Its branches reach out
To see what it may clinch

A tree is very curious
It likes to see and know
All about the world around it
And thats how trees do grow

They really like it when
Children come and play
They like all the attention
So they will never ever stray

And when Winter comes about
They know that they must shed
All of their hopes of warm days
And all the leaves upon their head

But when the snow has melted
And all the birds start to sing
The sun will come out once more
Then they will know its Spring

A tree even likes the rainy days
When the sky is covered in grey
You see the rain drops play a melody
To which they dance and sway

Brown and stained with age
Ancient, they have always been
An old leather-bound book
Lines of wisdom fine and thin

Its true that a tree is beautiful
In many, many wonderful ways
Nothing else can even compare
To the serenity of a trees gaze
