Water walk

by Christopher Lee   Apr 28, 2007

In the light of a crimson sunset,
he walks alone at water's edge.
Foam of the sea rises to caress,
held back by a sandy ledge.

Dreamy is the vision before,
calm and peace of waves beckon.
Hypnotic is the atmosphere,
nature's action of repetition.

The line between solid and liquid a blur,
a transformation of natural magic.
He crosses from one element to the next,
ignorant of the land behind so tragic.

Like a cunning siren,
the waves embrace the mortal creature.
Wading further and further,
until head is the only seen feature.

Support of land no longer near,
swimming amongst water, seaweed and hair.
He succumbs to the peace of it's soundless body,
life fading from his content stare.
