Mistakes

I yelled to him "I hate you,"
I yelled to him, "go die!"
So he walked right out the door,
Without even a goodbye.

I threw out all his stuff,
I was blind to what was about to start.
My attempts were not enough,
This alone tore me apart.

I wrote him long love letter,
Hoping he would cry.
He proved none of it mattered,
When I received no reply.

I didn't understand this,
The mess I got myself in.
Why, in this game of love,
Couldn't I win?

I realized that day,
Nothing will be right.
I won't get it back that way,
I'll always think of him at night.
