Blade of Grass

Precious blade of grass
Beaded with morning dew
Basking in the sunlight
Under skies of blue

Sipping on cool nectar
Store it deep within
Return to the surface
Green, upon your skin

Now a lush field
Covering the Earth
Going unnoticed, society
Not knowing your worth

Rice,corn and oats
Are things you provide
Sugar,bread and plastics
Preventing erosion worldwide

Precious blade of grass
Thankful for you
Sipping on cool nectar
From the morning dew
