Hitch Hikers

Walking down a beaten road
no sign to say which one
of all the roads i could walk down
it seems like this one's mine

i walk and walk, i look around
i see the trees (all dead)
no sign of life, just death and barren lands once prospering

the sign of life is obvious
even in this bleak state
i see what was once, and what is now
(i see what life death takes)

i look ahead to see a pond
and find it's a mirage
a lachrymatory fairytale
of dreams that fell down hard

you never try to pick me up
as you pass in your car
i walk along this barren road
to see these sweltering scars
(from you).......

you will not try to heal them
even though you see them clear
you don't pick up hitchhikers
even though their motive's clear...
