I knew a girl (once)

I knew a girl once
all laughter and smiles.
she was happy
and would jump
and laugh
always grinning manically.
She loved the world
and everything in it
because she was content
she had everything she needed
she had everything she wanted.
And then one day she had no smile,
there was no laughter echoing
around the room.
No longer was she happy
with what she had,
no longer was she content
or pleased with what she's got.
She wears a mask,
one that has smile.
But I see those eyes,
those beautiful sad eyes
and I know that not is all well.
So I say this to her,
and heed my words.
Hide behind that mask no more
don't accept what life has seemed to have given.
fight,
fight for what is yours
don't let others take it from you.
My dear girl, you deserve more than to be like this
you are an angel holding back you're wings.
Just open them up.
