Timeless

by Cantchangeme   Apr 16, 2004

I saw you there
Too docile to care
Speaking sunlit words
Those were not fair
Maybe I was just too
Morbid to hear you
Just like the paradise
Can’t break through ice

So you looked at me
Although you couldn’t see
Stopped and asked me please
Dropped down in front of me
I know it’s hard to believe
When your saviour
Becomes your disease

So I shook the dust off of me
Helped you walk back home
Sat down out in the rain
All of these years alone

I sat and cried one last time
And picked myself up again
And made my way back home
The temperature of your touch
It still chills me to the bone
I sat and counted scars
Another timeless alone

I hoped maybe someday
I’d see you there again
And we’d sit out in the rain
And I’d help you walk home
And then I’d spend eternity
Just me again alone
