All the pain you couldn't hide

by Greta Miller   May 9, 2007

That night you broke my heart,
That night my world was ripped apart.
Nothing will ever be the same again,
And the nightmare will never end.

That night I watched you cry,
Later that night, I watched you die.
I wanted to help you,
but it was out of my hands, there was nothing I could do.

That night I had to let you go,
I never got to let you know,
That you meant the world to me,
Now I hope you can see.

That night, I didn't leave you side.
I finally saw, all the pain you had been trying to hide.
You couldn't talk, you couldn't say a word,
I still know that you heard.

Everything I said to you,
Saying I never wanted to let you go.
Saying it would be okay...
But you didn't make it to the next day.

Some days my chest hurts...
Those are the days the pain can't get any worse.
Everyday I miss you more and more,
than the day before.

This was a really sad poem. It almost made me cry near the end, but it was really good. There were a few minor typos that messed up the flow a little when it was read, but besides that the poem was really good. 5/5
