The Boy Who Caught Her

by Tasha   May 11, 2007

She was solid on the ground.
Her heart grew larger then this whole town.
She was leaving to go do something great.
But something caught her from leaving through that gate.

It was that boy, who just couldn't let her go.
Who spoke in whispers, his voice carried low.
He called her name and begged her to stay.
And because of him, she never left that day.

She had beauty that poured throughout her eyes.
That shown brighter then the sun that would rise.
She saw the future and almost had it in her hands.
But something called that changed all her plans.

Her brilliance could catch someone blind.
And she was leaving all of us behind.
She was destined and everyone knew she would make it.
Yet she was so humble, she never could admit.

But then that boy stopped her in mid-stride.
He shamefully made her stop and look at us behind.
He told her he couldn't let her leave.
And held her back from everything she could achieve.

So now she is still here with us in this place.
All of her before dreams have all been erased.
She's still with that boy who couldn't let her proceed.
Yet she says thats the only thing she'll ever really need. -
