Loosen the grip
The control on my life
Let me live
Your hold is too tight
I'm choking on control
That I wish to lose
Let me be on my own
With much less rules
Let me experience the things
That all teenagers should see
No-parent parties and summer flings
I know you disagree
But I don't care
Stop butting in and let me explore
Let me fall, learn my lessons, and have a few good scares
So that my life won't be a total bore
How do I react to a situation
If I haven't already overcome it?
I wont have a firm foundation
In the future until you admit
I need to get in a little trouble
And make mistakes
Let me stumble
